Presented at the Deji Art Museum as part of Tales from a Synthetic Future, Beeple's first solo museum exhibition, this chapter imagines the opening stage of a future conflict between humans and AI. The explorer moves through a landscape haunted by the long cultural history of “people versus machines,” while code, glitches, and visual disturbances begin to overtake the world around it.
Rather than depicting the singularity as a single apocalyptic event, the chapter frames it as a psychological and political threshold, one in which competing fantasies of control, autonomy, and survival begin to take form.
